Greenfield Site
Long term sickness 

Our most recent client instruction has come from a small (8 employee) Engineering company who had an outdated contract document which doubled as a handbook, making all terms and conditions contratual.  As a business that offered company cars and whose staff incurred expenses in the execution of their duties the business was focused was on ensuring these aspects of employement were clarified and robust.  We put in place a bespoke contract document with supporting handbook which included a robust Company car policy.  We also developed all of the necessary HR forms which additionally ensured that the expenses process was clear and straight forward protecting both employee and employer. 

Member of staff for one of our banking clients had been off long term sick for a number of months with potential disability illness.  We advised the client and assisted them in arranging indpenedant medical assessement to establish disability or not, then a structured return to work put in place. Member of staff refued return and failed to adhere to reasonable requets made to faciliate a return to the workplace so the client was advised to move to the disciplinary process and we supported them in this from start to finish.  Take Note produced all of the correspondence, attended formal meetings and coached internal staff to prepare them fully for roles required of them in the process with particular focus on the health issues suffered by the employee the matter was concluded entirely to the satisfactory of our client with no further legal or internal recourse taken by the employee.  

Managing Performance 
Remote support

Managment Consultancy  (80 headcount) based in the City of London needed a simple, straightforward and easy to manage performance management system with appropriate coaching and support for line managers in order to give them the skills to conduct review meetings, give feedback constructively as well as the confidence and ability to highlight areas to be addressed.  In this instance the client looked for formal feedback to be taken from colleagues and, where appropriate, clients.  We started with structuring fortnightly "catch up" meetings which were file noted and fed directly into the monthly formal reviews.  Twice yearly a full management review was undertaken and ratings on performance given.  As a directly result of this employees understood were they were excelling, where they needed to focus and what could have been done better.  

Large multi-site business based in the UK have a requirement for ongoing HR support for the smaller regional offices.  Queries range from Line Managers with staffing issues to discuss, guidance on the application of company polices and procedures and updates including maternity leave, long term sickness, discipliary or grievance matters or just to check they have the right holiday request form.  In order to successfully offer this service we have to be familiar with the business, its structure and we need to listen as well as ask the right question and be clear and consise in our advice.
